it depends, when the feds are investigating someone it's usually not subtle. they interview everyone you do business with, especially if they're legal, if they follow you they just follow you, you'll see them and they'll see that you see them. they'll use GPS and cell phones too. but once the feds get involved it's a whole different level of no fucks given, they're just there

True facts. I got a state charge and while in custody the FEDS gave me a paper stating I was under investigation pending federal indictment. Heard they can keep investigation open for 3 years
