I served 28 years my daughter now serves my only child I’m so proud of here . She wanted to I didn’t force her she used to see how I wore my uniforms and. Smile one day while walking in a store with her I was in uniform a lady stopped me and started to cry and hugged me out of no where and said I love the way you hold your head high while holding you daughters hand I felt like a hero my daughter hugged my leg and said I love you daddy that to me was the best day in my life and when I went to her navy graduation I changed my mind this was the best day in my life I’m 60 now and if I die tomorrow I’ll know I did a good job teaching her love herself love her country she will make me proud and other African American women proud
