Minimum wage should follow inflation and not be the cause of inflation. If you don't let minimum wage follow inflation, when it catches up then for a short while it will be the cause for at least some of the inflation.
I can volunteer for free but can't work for less than minimum wage. Make that make sense.
minimum wage is just that , minimum wage. its not a wage meant to support a wife and kids and buy a house on. there will always be rich people in this world, and there will always , unfortunately, be people who work minimum wage jobs their whole lives. thats just how it is. not every job can pay 25/hr, or 50/hr or whatever it is. it will all be relative anyway. if every worker earned those type of wages you know how expensive everything will be? so they might make more, but it will still feel the same .
