Steak means let your fam know you're leaving, you're headed out.
So it always meant extendo deployment. Further more, I don't think you could possibly screw up Steak and Lobster the way the military does. It takes a special skill to ruin fine food the way they do .
Back in the day this was true. Extended for two months or more on a six month deployment. Prime liberty port cancelled.
We had surf and turf once a month at sea. We filled our stomachs and went right back to work. Just another day... haze gray and underway!
Every Sunday, crab leg and steak, and no, it doesn't mean something bad it's going to happen.
My captain loved getting us extended. Steak and Lobster was a norm.
Also got surf and turf before going in the box at NTC.

Not true... Certain Defacs used to serve surf and turf just to boost morale... I never had it in the military until I was actually overseas... Unless things have changed... OIF1 Veteran...

on my 9 month 31st meu I recall getting lobster a few times I do know we got it while we pulled out of Hawaii and were heading back to San Diego
