Seniors ache. He may be making noises because he hurts more when she picks him up. A ramp might be better for him or a sling to carry him .

Our Westie is this way. He sounds like he is going to kill you. However, if he is being picked up to go on a car ride while sitting on Poppa's lap...That is totally different. No growling, and you see that little carrot tail start wagging, We adopted Nicko when he was almost eleven. We knew we would not have him forever. The years went by way too quickly. He is now fifteen & almost blind. We pray we get to keep him as long as possible. We love him, dearly. He has such a personality.

of course she knows, we all know when our dogs can't jump up on the bed or get around easily anymore...that's when we know our days are limited...it is heartbreaking.

I have to do the same, my baby is 16 and going blind with 6 teeth left. I can barely walk but I can carry her up 5 stairs. If God makes a way for us we'll make a way for our pets and others .

Someone build him a ramp. Mom shouldn’t be lifting him either. Everyone’s safer that way.

My dad’s dog could not go up steps. He was in so much pain he would go to bite my face when I picked him up. He did not actually bite though.

Have a family member build a 12” wide ramp with a small railing on the side of the steps next to the house. Make sure it’s long so that it’s not steep. Add boat deck paint to prevent it from being slippery. It’s not safe for that lady to be carrying the dog up, definitely don’t want her falling and both of them getting hurt.

My almost 13 year old teacup Yorkie needs help. Too small to get on couch or bed by himself. Now he wants picked up to go outside and come back inside. To problem.Only weighs a lil over 3 lbs. Going to make him comfortable as long as his appetite and mobility are good.

I had an old dog named Buddy that growled at the air from the fan hitting him.. if you pointed at his food he growled, if you picked him up or pet him he growled. He never bit he just growled. He adopted me after his elderly owner died, I went to the estate sale and he jumped up on my lap and just sat there. The family just freaked because he only did that to their Dad. when I went to leave he jumped in my car. They asked if I would like to have him and told them yes, they said Dad would be happy knowing Buddy had picked his own human. I had him for about 5 years before he passed away. 💕🥰

My old man Cooper, my dog, does the same thing. He’s 14 now still wants to be independent and able to climb the steps, but he can’. So he’ll stand at the bottom of the steps and wait for me to pick him up. Growling the whole way up!☺️🥰🐶

Give them some chicken broth, take a drumstick, a thigh. It don't matter, make sure the bone is in boil it. Boil it all the way down until the bone is pretty soft. You want that morrow in the water and that chicken water and then give that to the puppy. Doggy.... My dog is like seven years old.And he was getting very grouchy, couldn't hardly move face on his the hair on his face, getting all gray, and I did just that now he moves around much better.....
