I hope he lives a long, happy life. Looks like he's just prancing! The nice thing is that he doesn't know there's anything different about him, he's just loved and happy.💕💕

He is quite a dancer. beautiful too. I have seen a lot of dogs do this. I was told it was a neurological condition. Does anyone know if this is true?💕💕💕💕💕

Can’t we all just be happy that this baby is living his best life. Yes it a neurological condition but that fur baby ain’t letting it stop him. Thanks for sharing.

For those unaware: this baby has cerebellar hypoplasia. When he/she was forming before birth, the cerebellum did not grow to full size, which caused muscle incoordination, ataxia, vestibular disturbances, etc. It isn’t painful or distressing, other than accidents when trying to be mobile, like falling or bumping into something, or straining to get the legs to go the way they want, but having to work extra hard to do it, and so on. Two decades ago I raised a Siberian with it from a litter of eleven (the rest were normal.) His lack of coordination was not as uniform as this, as most often they have more of a “drunken stumble” gait, not unlike Captain Jack Sparrow. Happy to say with loads of therapy work as a tiny baby, he is still going strong today! Aside from a small amount of arthritis (not bad for 20!), he’s aces! Accept special needs babies into your lives. It isn’t always easy, but it’s so worth it 💕 (He is the small black/white baby on the far left just above the white one)

Fenix is one of the most wonderful loved dogs in the universe 💙💙💙. He has a neurological disorder that causes him to dance. Had he not been adopted by his wonderful pawrents, he most likely would have been put down. I and many others are very grateful we are able to share his adventures 💙💙💙💙.

You can't teach it because it's actually a neurological disease that causes dogs to appear to be dancing and it is called Dancing Doberman Disease, also known as distal polyneuropathy or canine reflex myoclonus. This genetic disorder causes the hind legs to flex uncontrollably while the dog is standing, leading to a high-stepping or "dancing" appearance. Another condition, cerebellar hypoplasia, can also cause a "prancing" gait, though it affects balance and coordination throughout the body rather than specifically the hind legs.

Your dog has an incurable (with current technology)disease. It is noncommunicable. But he is in no pain. Just tell people that. Tell them you appreciate their concern. 🙏🏼

The “leg dance” by this Samoyed is hilarious! They are a wonderful dog around kids. They just have long hair that needs brushing in fall/winter. (Makes a gorgeous spin for those who weave it mixed with silk or wool blend!! I’m all in!! 😀

Seriously? I've seen this one many times and some with different dogs doing the same thing. I didn't think it was real with any of the dogs. Gotta watch it again... so cute! Question: Is the music playing... Benny Goodman Band? Is it Chattanooga Choo Choo? My parents used to play records from this era and dance for hours. Warm fuzzy memories.
