The Molly bolts of today do a far better job, and only need a hole to function, this should be deemed clickbait!!

the effort to drill an oval shaped hole then cut the slit .... all for a weaker fastener than just using another nut / fender washer ... like walking a mile to get just 10 feet from where you started.

or just use another washer and nut took thousands of years to think of that

Why don't you cut a slot in the bolt? And then drill a normal hole, slide the bolt through flare out the ends that you pre-cut, and then put your nut on and secure it smaller hole, more secure

Ridiculous, unnecessary and far too much work.

If the Roman's had access to mass produced Fasteners, I'm sure they would use them PROPERLY.

Why not use a whole list a combination of smaller two larger washers instead of trying to split the end of a screw
