No cell phones no internet. Life was simpler and kids had fun. Grew mentally, learned life skills. Now, too much has been forgotten.

I grew up in the big city but we could still make awesome forts and stuff. A refrigerator box was a score!!! 🥰🥰🥰

When I was a kid, we used to dig giant deep holes and then cover them with wood you could go down inside them. We had a two chamber one one time.

I bet that they got the idea from their phones and watched a tutorial video to learn how to build it though..

Nice job boys! We built stuff like that all the time as kids in the 80s and my kid and his buddies are building one right now behind the house. More kids need to get back to the basics and use their brains and not phones to have fun again.

I loved when I was a kid. Soon as I got up and ate I was out the door. Riding my bike playing in the woods. Getting in trouble. Never even cared about a phone call

Awesome. They will grow up as men. Knowing they are able to be in the woods and survive. Trees are life. Technology is death.

Fun times. We used to build forts on railroad by our house out of old railroad ties. Best times ever. We would rub elderberries on our faces and play cowboys and Indians. And swim in creek along side of the tracks.

My friend and I kinda do this type of thing! We make a camp along the river every summer that we have to kayak to. He builds a fire pit and we put up our tent and train the canopy to grow over and not into our camp. We have a bathroom we build away from camp, a kitchen for food prep, a pantry for food storage, a beach to park our kayaks, etc. It's not a fort, but it's somewhat similar. We are both children of the 70's at 55, and we know the joys of not being tethered to technology! We spend our weekends all summer out at our 'home' exploring up and down the river finding new areas, rock hounding everywhere we go, and we don't take it down until the weather gets to be too cold in the evenings. It's incredible and amazing to have that freedom after a week of technology and negativity being forced at us through so many outlets!

We built underground forts, tree forts and sometimes igloos in the winter if the snow was great, just so we could be out of the house. Times sure was different in the 60's and 70's growing up. Nowadays kids hardly ever get outside to do things on their own and actually are missing out on the best things growing up.
