In situations like this you call dispatch You call 911 and they patch you through and then they can communicate with the cop that way he can get in front and lead you to the hospital I know because when I was in labor and almost had my kid in the car we did that

I was in a similar situation but I called 911 first and the cops were aware of the situation and I was let go.

crazy that nobody in that car was on with 911 THE WHOLE TIME. but MOSTLY it just makes police and 911 having such an immense importance on compliance that as soon as there's noncompliance of ANY KIND then their play book says to suspend ALL action and DISREGARD any and all situational changes until such time as you've made them comply with your original command. like if you're running from someone with a knife and a cop tells you to halt, he WILL make sure YOU complied BEFORE they even look at the man with the knife.
