It's about comfort. some of these guys though have them ridiculously high. I had factory buckhorns and went to the straight drag bar and yeah like the sport bikes you're bent over all the time and it's really hard on your back but when I went to the 14 in apehanger handle bars it was a much more comfortable ride especially long distance

Meow my fave motorsickles are standard naked sport like my cb500f. Meow I'm planning to get a cb650r all because of the bigger motor and the eclutch. Plus it's the same frame what I'm riding right smurfing meow. Vroom Vroom I like motorsickles.

Ride for one hour on crotch rocket and tell how your shoulder blades feel. Getting your arms into a comfortable position? IS EVERYTHING ON A MOTORCYCLE.
i have 16 " on my bike. for me it keeps my hands from falling asleep and is 1000 times more comfortable

Never ride with your hands above your heart. Your hands go numb faster and your grip is weaker.
