lived in Alexandria Ohio and the cellar of the house was dirt and rocks, one wall had an opening you could see that it seemed like it went somewhere, I never hardly went down there because of snakes but had to go down to put salt in the water conditioner. Went to the vet and he started talking about where I lived . He said it was a grand home at one time, a doctor owned it and it has the underground railroad. I told him about the cellar, he said that was the escape route to the church up the road on the corner. Underground Railroad I learned in school, so neat to learn the history of the home I lived in. You could tell it was a grand place at one time.

I would have flipped my shit if that were me.. what made that handle or whatever it was flip out? Somebody or something on the other side of that door seems like they are trying to open the door.. maybe it’s a neighbor from a few blocks away who found a mysterious door in their basement, opened it , saw a tunnel and started walking and then came to this door.. if you ever had that happen in your home, find a door, opens to a tunnel would you follow said tunnel to see where it goes or what’s inside? NOT me …

burn sage, get holy water and a priest to bless your home, put bear traps on the other side of that door or some kind of nice polite havahart traps, in case the door wiggler has two or four legs, and invest in a way to protect yourself in case it is a two legged stray critter. bears can rip doors off hinges, meth/crack heads have abnormal strength, many ppl have had homeless ppl take up residence in their crawl spaces and not noticed for insanely long periods of time. if that doesn't lead anywhere and can't be an animal or ppl then you have a demon, either way nothing good is on the other side of that door. rats don't jiggle doors like that!! and they can get back out the way they came in. I'm guessing it's a bigger critter like raccoon or bear, hopefully not a homeless person or demon or bad spirit. but I'd plan for every option because that's your home, not theirs, chase it out!!

I lived in a house Tomahawk Wi, the basement had two entrances in the home one off living room one off kitchen. Shortly after we moved in I heard the door by kitchen unlatch and open. every Tuesday this would happen when kids would stay both under 5 they would ask for the bathroom door to be closed so not to see the man in the mirror. Then it happened more and more vision floats like a spirit in the window in the dining room or while watching t.v as soon as lease was up we moved out.
I saw this full video. The woman gets ballsy and shows everyone the next day what’s behind it. Behind the door is nothing but a brick wall. There were no openings something could’ve gotten in or air could’ve done it. This weirded me out so much. Unexplainable for sure. That’s why the husband didn’t believe it

Stop the political crap. I was a quasi-believer for years. Then, one dawn, I was awakened by some strange presence, pushing down on me ad trapping me in my bed. I was so scared, but started screaming " I rebuke you in the name of Jesus". I screamed it several times. The presence lifted. I became a true believer that " Greater is HE that is in me. than he that is in the world." I lost fear of the supernatural, but don't go looking for experiences.

My basement doors look just like that handles and all..My husband would have been running like a scared rabbit..Me I would have swung that door open with a shot gun in hand.. Wouldn't do nothing to a ghost 👻 But would to an intruder!
My old house was built in 1900. I am sure people have died there over 125 years. My ex lives there still. Our 4 year old son said he saw a 'black man' at night. What he meant was a dark shadow man. I had a paranormal person over. She said there were many spirits in the house and they watched over our son. She said she took the 'shadow man' out of the house (nor sure how that works) and my son never saw him again. My son is almost a grown man and he still remembers it.
spirits absolutely exist. Also have them in my home. I have also seen a shadow man up close. I have had several paranormal investigations in my home, in fact, one of those investigations can be seen on u-tube on the Paranormal Nightmare show, which prove the existence of spirits. I personally believe that you should not show fear so hope you are able to face what's in your basement without freaking out. Good luck.

That looks like the way my niece described her basement in Colorado and she said she kept hearing noises behind the area. She would also see dark figures standing in her bedroom doorway and they would walk through the bathroom door
it's rats within the wall chewing on something. or maybe an opossum that got trapped. or it could be my ex mother-in-law I thought I buried her better I'll make a trip back and bring some cement with me.
I think you have bigger problems to worry about with all the water coming into your basement and ruining your foundation. if that noise is really rats (which I doubt), you just need a humane trap and a trip out to the woods to release them.
