In Washington it's ok to riot, looting & burning businesses. Helmet cams? NO !!!

The cops a dick. It’s not illegal to strap on or glue a camera to your helmet in Washington state. It’s illegal to drill into your helmet or compromise the integrity of a DOT helmet and it’s a low priority for enforcement

who's the dumbass governor that made that law?And what's the problem with a helmet cam anyways?🤔

You can have a camera built in the helmet. The reason why they don't want the camera is it's easier to give you a ticket without evidence.

That's why I live in washington.State and I just wouldn't look it up.Yes, you can as long as it's not glue or screws on there

funny how they pull someone over for a camera but leave people alone for shooting up drugs and pooping in public street side walks and run around naked all the time .

Is that legit a law? Wtf would anyone agree to that law. Take your states back mofos before it's too late. I need a reason why that is illegal.

Dumbest law on the books. F Washington, Oregon and California. in case of invasion. we should let them take all 3 states. We will take em back once they are decimated. I'm still hoping on that great quake we were promised years ago.

I just searched this and everything I found said you can as long as its not hard mounted.

avator

Yes, you can have a camera on your helmet in Washington, but it's a gray area: strap-on mounts (like GoPro straps) are generally fine as they don't alter the helmet, but drilling/gluing is a "no-no" as it compromises the DOT safety standards

That would be a lie, you are allowed to have a camera on your helmet so long as you have not deface the helmet as the helmet is your protection on your head

avator

hard mounts may jeopardize the integrity of the helmet.

just ride and stop thinking you need proof of everything. if it's not safe enough don't ride (former rider who still renews endorsement)

well that just means you got to mount the camera where the headlight is.

It’s illegal in Pa to attach anything to your helmet. It started and comes forward from when bikers liked to put horns on their lids, and the ever cool spike on top of a half helmet. I don’t know for sure why they made it unlawful, but my guess is that the horns would grab shit when you’re in a power slide and would snap your neck like a twig.

I believe he's wrong. Dash cameras are everywhere today and thankfully so. They explain accidents often. Police wear cameras these days. Required by law much of the time. This rider has the same rights to record his driving experience. I would go to Court on this one.

give him a warning dude did not know,a good cop knows how tickets can hurt people in different ways and they will give you a warning but a tyrant will always write you a ticket

The reason you don't need a camera is because you should be out there driving and paying attention to what you're doing and not making content

easy way to solve it take it off the helmet, put it on the bike, but see he was being honest and not a dick, simply told the officer that he didn't know it was supposedly a law.i almost bet if he did take the camera off,he didn't get a ticket because he was polite and honest

avator

it's a law so that they can lie in court because you won't have proof
