HOT

My grandfather was a coal miner, and he and his father had their own coal mine behind their home, so they would work all day in a major coal mine, and in the evening after work, they would go behind their home and go back to coal mining to get coal to heat their own homes. They got hurt all the time, but they were so tough, they would just keep going. And in their spare time which wasn’t much, they were also electricians, and they would rewind motors for the trains that carried the coal out of the mines. What’s really amazing was the pay. You would think they were making a lot of money, but the mines gave them coupons to buy their food at the mine companies store. So the coal mines ended up getting their money back from the miners that had to pay them for food, their homes and just about anything else you would have needed. So in the end, the miners and their families were always poor no matter how hard they worked. Things are so much different today. Better safety equipment, etc..

nobody is even addressing the fact that he is in a cave...with a pick...removing wooden posts to get some coal. nobody sees a problem with that? I've probably seen stupider somewhere...just can't remember where

how nice to post a clip with no explanation to cause people to guess and argue about what this man is doing. 🙄

What is this guy digging for? I see coal, but he looks totally un prepared to be mining coal. So what else could he be hunting?

Think of wind, and solar like a car, would you buy a car that only works 25% of the time (solar) or a car that works only 50% of the time (wind) ...its something to think about, isn't it??...and heres the kicker, those cars cost MILLIONS, can't be easily recycled, and destroy the very land they sit on...and the very reason utilities use this inefficient energy is the government is SUBSIDIZING it!!!

Wwll, I guess we will be looking at more and more terrible storms, floods, etc., then because remember that using coal just helps makes climate change worse and worse. By the way, stop making "everything" the Dems fault. Our country was doing great whrn when it was handed over t9 Trump. What have the magas done for you? Have they made our schools better or killed the education department with fewer people and no better ideas? Have they lowered prices of goods and meds as promised, or are ptices rising? Did replace the Affordable Care Act with something better, or did Johnson refuse to work across the aisle and refuse to take a a vote the bipartisan bill? It just goes on and on, and you believe the lies that demented Don keeps spewing!

Coal will be used until we can make batteries a lot cheaper. The way things are going eventually they will figure out a way to make an alternator/generater able to produce more energy to charge a battery than it needs. I know a lot of people will say that it would be perpetual motion which is impossible but I've seen the way batteries have really become competitive. We need to figure out the best way to dispose of them correctly but I see them getting stronger and cheaper. If they keep getting better as quickly as they have been then who knows how efficient they will become.

oh yeah, this guy is collecting for his furnace. he's not wearing any protective gear at all. Incorrect shoes, because by law, if he was working, it requires steel toes, a hard hat and battery lamp, and a methane lamp. It's not a lamp for light as you ate underground, that's what you have attached to your hard hat.

Note coal is being Mines thus is a third world country no issues but when America does this with the highest safety and ecological standards “it’s bad “…… moral of the story we’re gonna buy it from these places at a higher cost of life and money

If this IS coal mining, where are the braces to keep the cave from craving in? Also, he should be using a respirator to prevent black lung disease, commonly seen in coal miners. I respect these miners, going to work with possibilities of a disaster that could happen any time.

We have solar and we love it! Our electric bill went from somewhere north of $110/ mo, down to a recent bill for $12 & change. Our house is over 3,600 sf and it would cost a mint to cool the entire thing without solar.

that man is probably somebodys hero,... risking his life but he knows each strike of that pick equals a little more of something for his children..so he suffers through it !!! HONOR HIS SACRIFICE, not you mentally sick and unstable people that come here to spew politics and jokes.....that man represents millions of miners in that little but informative clip....and he ain't even started bagging and hauling yet...may God bless him and his family he's trying to support..!! 🥰🙂‍↕️
