I've lived in a northern suburb of Ohio and visit the places that Amish live in since I was young girl. We have to remember that the Amish have mIntained their culture and way of living for years. I'd hesitate to judge them, or criticize their beliefs and way of life. Given the hate , greed, and free lifestyle prevalent in our society, they will survive in spite of our Country's struggles that are yet to come.
I was hitchhiking and went past this farm where the Amish were doing that only they were shucking oats .I walked out into the field they saw me I asked if I could help in exchange for a meal they said okay and I stacked oats they finished took me to the farmhouse had me sit at a big table and we ate corn and asparagus and pickled beets and raisin pie. when I left the old man said you are the first English to come in my house and talk to my family.then the woman all went to the barn with all these kids to milk cows I followed and the woman said have you ever seen a cows tit no I said we'll come down low here and I did and she sprayed milk in my face and all those children laughed.oh what a great time that was
amish people are hardworking people
Their kids start working around the farm at a very young age. They all work hard from dawn through part of the night.
Those are real men
This that true country life
Brawn. Good to see, these days. Doin'it, the old fashioned way! I had tried to buck hay. Falfa. All I can say is, "Ouch!"
We could learn a lot about working the land and maintaining life without destroying everything in sight by adopting some of the Amish ways.
no sir no electronic or gas machinery there imagine how much money they save and now all that what you saw that they're taking down they use every bit of it no waste smart people
😳
Thats probably for them and not for us because were sodomites and there not!!!!! LOOOOOOOL
I didn’t see one black person working there
Wow, the horses are doing all the hard work
They treat their horses like a piece of furniture. When they aren't useful anymore, due to injury or age, they are sold to auction for slaughter. And they run puppy mills.
Are they harvesting sugar cane? Someone said corn, but that doesn’t look like corn and it’s planted too close together for it to be corn.
watched 2 small children planting tabbaco plugs on little seats on a plow pulled be 2 horses with there dad driving the team.
They use those poor horses up and then send them to the slaughterhouse. It’s disgusting.
You’re not supposed to video or picture them
amazing to watch how the did it before gas e gines
That is Totally the way to do it 🙏Keeps everyone healthy active and stronger including the Horses I had an Amish trained Belgian Draft horse shipped down from Warsaw Ohio she was 18 and retired Best horse I ever Had 🥰‼️
Now that is what I call horsepower!
Technology meeting the past, I'd LOVE to go Back. ❤️🔥=❤️🔥😔
One thing for sure, when the electricity goes down their life doesn't stop.🛑
respect👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
that would be the Amish
My grandpapa plowed with 4 to 6 Belgians across.
Ask the big question. Did anyone notice how huge that crop was that they were harvesting? Why isn't it happening every where else? It is not just the land these guys get more per acre than any other farmers period.
I'm not Amish ... just regular redneck farm folk. I was steering a little red and Grey Ford tractor in the hay field at 6.
look how tall the corn is 😲
I believe this to be a very satisfying way of life. 🙏
Beautiful Horses also, Very Well kept, and taken care of always..!!!
Oh my late Aunt and Uncles neighbor, Mr. Less cut hay with a team of horses. He stood on their back towards the center of the horses. He did this into his mid 90’s. He was about a hundred years old when he passed.
I think they do a furlough or furlongs at a time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like I read they expect a horse to give a good run for one furlough (220 yards), then turn/rest and do it again. Seems like the plow 8 sections in a day - a good day's work in their eyes.
you're correct kids in that community grow up fast they learn how to be an adult and responsibility kids his eyes outside of that oh Dad that's too much this and I don't want to do that I want to lay around and watch videos I don't want to claim my room up I don't want to talk about some 6 months
I have much respect for the Amish & their hard working way of life, BUT, they need to care for their horses better instead of sending them to slaughter after they have also worked hard & help the Amish retain their way of life. Shame on these people.
They use to cut with a sickle, whats that "machine" I see with the conveyor belt? Must be the high-tech Amish.
Amish horses are worked almost to death and then sent to slaughter auctions. They’ll squeeze every penny out of those poor animals.
I have to point out that the Amish abuse and use their horses till they're basically dead on their feet and then put them to auction they're terrible with their animals over time it's notorious for the Amish people
Hwy 90 in Port Allen, La, just before bridge over Mississippi River going to Baton Rouge, La Miles and miles of Sugar Cane to cut every year!!!
Amish ways are wiser
great people leave them alone
Sometimes the old tried and true ways are the best way 💕🙏🇺🇸
They are Amish. They put their children to work when they turn 3.
Nothing wrong with that. Teaching them young. English could learn a lot from the Amish
love it that's how it should be done
That's what a Combine looked before machines took over.
GOD BLESS THEM ALL. THEY'RE QUIET COMMUNITY KEEP TO THEMSELVES. AND THE OTHER GROUP IS CALLED QUAKERS AND THEY'RE IN PENNSYLVANIA THEY'RE REALLY NICE PEOPLE TOO 😊😊😊😊👍👍🙏🙏🙏
This AI
Animal abuse.
Excellent 8 horsepower.
You do up here in Indiana
regardless of their religion they are still human beings with feelings
BEAUTIFUL!!🤔🤔🤔👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
there are two different horse drawn pieces of equipment there. one of them is a flat trailer that they are stacking the corn stalks on and the other one is actually cutting the stocks at the base. it's not exactly 8 wide for the horses. it's two rows of four.
Amish don't have to spend money for fuel and fuel tax or maintenance 😂
Depends on where you live. I lived in Shreve, Ohio and saw that a lot
Just go to Pa. during cutting season
❣️🙏 THE AMISH THEY WORK VERY HARD BUT YET THEY ALSO WORK THEIR HORSES TO DEATH🤔
Wow
WE DON’T NEED A LOT OF PEOPLE With Self-Proclaimed Importance… But We Do Need Farmers- The Backbone of the World!
I have seen sugarcane been cut before. usually, they remove the leaves before putting them in the trailer. The trailes are very often pull by cows.
This isn’t a zoo for privileged! white people I think once the crops are all in and sold, the Amish should petition the Bishop Fri be able to video privelidge white people doing their jobs!😲
my Dad plowed fields with horses
These PEOPLE WORK!!
Too much slave work on those horses who breathethe breath of life, get thirsty, tired, and hungry. Buy you a truck/tractor. Ugh.
Old school
seven horse team, such a beautiful site to behold
Trimming Rosie O’Donnell’s back hair???
