It's against the law in Oklahoma to chain your dog anywhere back yard or front. without being attended. If that's your intentions for a dog, leave them in the shelter or where ever. That's not a life for a dog. Dogs need love, a loving family and someone to care for their needs. That's why they're called DOMESTICATED DOGS. Dogs do not like being chained up out side day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year. We are their guardians.

So what you are saying is that you are home with your dog 7 days a week, 24 hours a day 365 days a year? what do you do with your dog when you're not home? kennel? that's just qs bad if not worse, may as well put them in jail, at least when they are on a safe, recommended chain, they have the freedom to run and play, where in a kennel they can barely move. I'm fortunate enough to be able to be home with my Yorkie 365 days qa year, and if I go anywhere, she goes with me wether it's the store, the Dr., church, pretty much everywhere I go, she goes. But don't sit there and shame people for having their dogs on chains, a lot of time it's for the dogs protection so it doesn't run out into the street and get run over, stolen, or have it run away, so before you judge people for chaining their dogs up, put yourself in their shoes, because you never know the other persons situation.

Yea, we had a dog like that. Best dog but never would be tied nor fenced always got free escape houdini dog. She would go down to the neighbors house and swim in their pool. I'm surprised they never asked nor charged us to clean their pool! She stayed in the house but destroyed all our furniture too. We even put a cactus 🌵 on the table, thinking that would stop her, but she ate it without any problems at all! We found her full of worms on the street. Loved her to death but never could tame her. She passed at 10 years. Sadly still running away at her last moments.👍🥰

I wouldn’t call that a “fenced in yard”
