I'm not paying is enough for him to be remanded in jail until his debt is either paid by him or until someone secures payment for him. let his mouth secure the fact that he will be held in contempt for a minimum of 6 months.
Sounds like a threat, would throw him in jail for that.

everyone is judging this man's response, what's so striking, the very same people judging him also wouldn't like it if they are fined for a traffic issue. the guy was reacting to the unfairness of this predatory ticketing system. think about it, how many time you have seen a person being sentenced for assault act this way toward the judge before sentencing? not many, on the other hand, someone being forced to pay traffic fine out the little money they have would natural have the sense he's being taking advantage of.
If those in jail or prison were forced to HARD LABOR maybe they would think twice about returning back to jail - chain gangs road crews 6 Days a week 10-12 hrs a day was ideal for most of these criminals to Hate prison - but know we let them sit in prison watch TV - fight each other and get fat
This judge has to try a little harder to command respect. I'd put his disrespectful ass in jail for contempt as soon as he refused to pay. None of this "Have a nice day sir". He'd pay the $145 real quick or spend 30 days for contempt.
