That's not true always. I was taught both
for a very very long time women did not have rights. a women's place was in the home raising children. women were not allowed to work or provide. that was the man's role. men were looked to for leadership, providing, security, safety, and income. it's only recently that womens role has changed. but is not as equal. so if men or society can acknowledge women can be the breadwinner of the family and the men can stay home. then you will see the teaching change.
