Born during the Iraqi war, maybe, but definitely didn't go there.
We do not wear medals in public on our dress blues unless we’re attending a formal event. We also never wear ribbons AND medals at the same time.
My father served from 65-75. Went to Vietnam completed 1 1/2 tours. Tripped a wire in his first tour, 1” spikes to his leg & took a round half way through his 2nd tour. Participated in the evac of Saigon in 1975. Passed away July 12, 2006.

any metals that are found should be brought to the nearest recruitment center and have them do as they will. They should never be sold, how can you even put a price on all the sacrifices of our men & women? I have heard of people who have used purple hearts to their advantage from a dead spouse or a family member. It is disgusting and actually a slap in the face to those who gave their time their life their minds in many cases. It should actually be a crime to be wearing any part of a military uniform metals even patches.

people who commit stolen valor should be put in the same prison for the people who are members of the military and their crime should be made public in the prison system for the military personnel
