shoot my mother raised 3of us boys on her own, she used to whip us when we stepped out of line with her hand, a belt,a wooden spoon,a shade stick,I remember one time when I was 17 my mom and I got into an argument about something, and I made the mistake of balling my fist up ,lol....needless to say my granddaddy had to get me up off the ground, mom had a mean right hook....but I all my life ,I never turned into no abuser,or psycho killer, and if someone would've said something about her discipline us you would've had to contend with three pissed off brothers. back in our day if someone talked sideways about your mom.....it was on jack.
My grandson hid in Walmart one day, and when I finally found him. I hugged him and told him I was glad he was safe..gave a kiss. Then I bent him over my knee and gave him 2 good spanks to his bottom. This woman, about 25, said well child abuse, that why he hide". I finally said if you stick your nose in, I will bust it for you. The security officer checked to see if I abused him. When they explained why he go a spanking. He goes at 5 yrs old. Grandma said to hold her hand if I let go of the basket. So I failed to do what I was told. I got one slap for not listening and another cause I hide. So a 5 yr. knows more then that 25 yr old. we can spank but not beat.

That's whats wrong with kids today. They aren't being taught the choices have consequences. I do not believe in child abuse,there's a difference in discipline and abuse. Teach them. half y'all weren't taught yourselves and it shows.

There is a time and place for everything. Physically touching a child anywhere and especially in public. (not certain how old she is) is unacceptable. Discipline comes in many forms. The old man appears to have a mean spirit just from that clip.

Maybe he's mad because someone was in his business. I spanked my daughter on her butt when she ran off and a lady told me not to hit my daughter. I was so mad at her for not knowing what was going on that I told her if she didnt back up she would be next. I dont condone hitting in the face but if he popped her mouth and as long as he didnt bust her lip then maybe she learned something.

A year ago I talked to a psychiatrist, about seeing a father beating his misbehaving 16 year old daughter, in public. His response surprised me totally. He told me that what the daughter received from her father was exactly what she needed.
I wouldn't know about my grandparents reaction, would never disrespect them. Neither would my kids and grandkids. Granddaughter needs this lesson before it's too late.
My dad would have done the same thing. If you wanted to sass mom, you better make sure dad doesn't hear you. Of course growing up in the country, I'd occasionally sass dad outside then when he came to whop me, I'd run away. He'd chase me but he'd be laughing too hard to catch me.
Lady mind your business. People like you is what has made the kids as wild as they are. Discipline needs to come back. The lady probably wants to call DHS on the grandfather. She is wrong. He is a grandfather who cares enough to teach her a lesson she will not forget.

I have been done that way when I back talk when I was 12 yrs old I thought that I was growing up my mom let me know right there n front of everyone right n my mouth letting me know that I was a child n I don't talked back to my mom and dad to respect them n others that was over me growing up I'm 68 yrs old n never been inside of a jail n never been n trouble with the laws officials n with my elders it's yes sir n Yes ma'am I respect my veterans n anyone that has authority over me never disrespect others
