If you are working and need food stamps here is a way to cut down. Disconnect cable, use basic flip phone not smart phone, start a garden, cut coupons,cut out cigarettes,beauty treatments, alcohol, fast food and Star bucks, learn to cook and can, shop for clothing at second hand stores and yard sales,use the library ,parks and Farmers' market for entertainment.

more snap benefits go to white people in red states than any other category. elderly and disabled are next. snap benefits only have a 3%fraud rating. the lowest of any federal assistance program. so suck it, rethuglicans. it's your people with their faces in the trough.

There are plenty of jobs citizens say they don't want but if you are hungry I bet you will be applying. I worked many of those jobs and it was a great motivator to work on skills to get something better. Here is a list. Fruit picker , processor or packer. Care home worker. Dish washer in restaurant. I’m gonna tell you something right now. They are not just giving food stamps out to just anybody anymore. Some states have funded the snap benefit funds for their state and I promise you the state that I’m in have put new rules in the place. If you do not have a job, it is mandatory that you register and participate in the workforce program for whatever county you’re in and submit authentic job search you cannot turn down a job offer and you have to work a minimum of 30 hours a week if you fall short of that, you have to make up the rest of the hours Volunteering for different county programs and it all has to be documented and submitted every week or every pay period I personally agree with this program because it is not just handing out free money. It’s helping people who are helping themselves get back on their feet and it is no longer designed to be a permanent way of lifeor a long-term source of income
some people don't have that privilege,thay have kids to take care of,,n if you hire a babysitter it will take most of you'r work check,,,Everyone wasn't born with a silver spoon in there mouth,,,n some people arnt able
I work plus overtime Im a single mom. my ex husband does not work or help take care of his child. I need that little extra bit of help to feed my son. I pay taxes every year since I was 16yrs old and able to work. Before that I was working since I was 11yrs old babysitting, dog bather, and in kitchens getting paid but not officially on the books. I have never had help before but now I need it. So yes it did worry me when I didn't receive my food stamps because that meant another bill didn't get paid and now I owe more money for. Not everyone takes advantage of the system. People stereotype and put others in categories because they won't educate themselves on the subject. Don't go by what people are saying actually do your research before making assumptions about people.

I should not have to plead my case like this, but I need to speak up for a lot of people who are being bashed because we need help with food I make $33 an hour my rent is 1900 plus gas ,water, electric, phone and sewage yes sewage, car note and insurance after that I barely have enough to eat. I live in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and I work hard everyday just like everyone and yes I depend on my food stamps to give me a little relief I just tried to apply for an apartment to lesson my load and I was told that I did not make enough yearly to cover the $72,000 income requirement. So please stop thinking all able adults are mooching off the system I NEED HELP, or I would literally have to choose rent or food
Some people are unable to do so due to physical and/or mental capacity. Those that have lied somehow needs to be dealt with. With all this technology we have in this country, you figure that safeguards and audits could be used to feret out all scamers.

I'm 58 .I was born in brooklyn ny.8 brothers and sisters .my dad was a Forman in a factory.i left school at 12 years old and started working 40 hours a week ..I never looked back always worked all my life.my body wakes up automatically everyday at 5.30 am.so many young people dont want to work.
All of these women having Babies and riding the system, where are the Baby Daddies, they should be Identified, and arrested for not paying child support, just like the courts do to fathers that are paying child support. I filed myself to have mine payroll deducted, and if my employer sent it in late, I would get a letter, threatening to suspend my driver's license.

actually I have Feet problems And can Barely walk for long periods of time let alone stand up for long periods of time.. Trust me The pain that goes thru my legs when I take a bad step is horrible.. Imagine metal grinding on your ankles all day.. And being told Ur lazy and what not when those same ppl know I have Feet problems..
