I heard fire fighters hate them I always heard the hose needed to have a straight line coming out of hydrant I remember seeing cars yrs ago with windows busted and hose run straight thru...LOL

Maybe they should just use normal fire hydrants. That's why they have three hose connections.

Sorry, but there is a problem with this video. Per current federal law the curbside must be marked red and the hydrant must be no closer than 2.5 feet from curbside. Without the correct marking the fire department/city would be liable for any damage to the private property. For older city’s who hydrates are closer the red curb marking is mandatory if not marked correctly the hydrant must be noted as secondary use only. That is why you see fire departments or city maintenance departments flushing their hydrants annually. During this maintenance they not only clean, check water flows, and paint required markings.

Are you sure there’s water in that hydrant? Gavin may have turned them off.

I had to park 6-8 ft. BEYOND the hydrant earlier this (Sun.) evening in the city, and worried about getting a ticket (I didn't). ■ I'm sure I wasn't parked "legally," but took a chance on Sun. enforcement. (I'm hoping there's no automated/robotic enforcement in that location ... )

Yellow hydrant ....whatever happened to R E D . BET IF THE LAWS OF FINES AND AUTOMATIC TOWING & VEHICLE STORAGE COSTS WERE IN FULL FORCE, much of these acts would become fewer .

easy solution, bust out the windows and run the hose through the parking the truck right there and for better results let a few gallons of water seep out of the hose, totally ruin their day just because they can

I would have taught the privileged idiot that thinks he/she can park where they want with no consequences. both windows would be busted out. Some life lessons are learned the hard way...

my question is why didn't they either break the windows and go through the windows to fill up the truck or have the car towed sided and then fill up the truck where they in a hurry

avator

in Texas, they just shove the car out of the way. no waiting for tow truck. if the car is damaged, it's the car owners loss

I think they should do what they have to do in the old days they broke the window out and brought the hose through the car to the hydrant you shouldn't have a driver's license if you don't know the laws of the road and the rule is you can't park within 15 ft of fire hydrant
