Ever seen the image of the vascular system? It clearly shows unoxygenated (blue)blood going into the heart and oxygenated (red)blood coming out.

yeah was taught that but think of it like this!? if your getting blood taken from you or blood is being transfused from you to someone. think of the rubber stopper think of the bag it's going into and most important think of the inside of your vein. there's no air/oxygen in any of them. the blood is still red... I've thought of this before but your video kinda brought the topic back around.

All blood is oxygenated….these comments prove most everyone has no basic understanding of how anything works. I never knew intelligence was so rare until the age of social media. We as a species are doomed.

Yes in the 80s they taught us in school that blood inside your body was blue but once you were cut or blood came out of the body it turned red once it hits oxygen. I remember going home and telling my mom and my mom saying why Shit NO that's not true

avator
Garrit Secrest

I thought the same but then educated myself blood is always red its the veins & arteries that are blue.. us 90s & early 2000s kids were just brainwashed

yeah I remember when they tried to teach this to us. I also remember them not having an answer when I said it would be that color regardless bc blood transfers oxygen throughout the body!

No, when you were a child in elementary school. And they showed you an illustration of the blood flow, they colored the blue as this oxygenated and the red part as oxygenated, just for illustration purposes. So when the child asks so the blue is the oxygen, the teacher would say yes, but the kit was literally talking about the color but the teacher thought illustration

I'm 46 and yes def was taught blue till oxygen . that's why our veins we can see are BLUE!!!!!! NOT TO MENTION I homeschool for past 9 yrs because everything I was taught and I was an A honor roll student, vala Victorian awards etc but everything I was taught is not what's taught today! It was really frustrating to learn everything I know us now INCORRECT making me look)feel STUPUD!! So. I homeschool and teach at will. here in Ohio
