I went to a museum years ago that featured various "death cars" that also had the Lincoln that JFK was killed in and I can tell the naysayers that this is one hundred percent without a doubt the real deal. And No, it's not that the seats were replaced, many of the bullets never actually made it through the car and those that did were absorbed by bodies. Cars, guns and ammunition were both made very differently than they are these days. Hell the carbine rifle didn't come along until well into the forties. One more thing that you have to take into consideration. The officers were hiding behind bushes on both sides of the road so it wasn't like they were right up on them.
