Looks like life . Corkscrews like DNA, THE galaxy, the whirls in a seashell, tree rings...Nature abhors a straight line. Kinky hair is the most unique hair on the planet..it affirms life and mimics no animal fur or hair save a sheep and that, only loosely. . Yes I know certain dogs have corkscrew fur..but its a loose coil still not tight like an ink pen spring..resilient, seeking.....Type 4 hair seems to be the only hair that still moves and forms even after it has been released from the follicle. I love our hair ..the patterns and textures... Never saw a gorilla or monkey with kinky hair. Set aside. A most peculiar people., just like God said. YES LAWD😆😆😆😆😆😆

My coworker always had these perfect curls and looked so cute. I asked her one day about how her stylist did it. She told me that every Saturday she would spend about 4 hrs at the salon start to finish. I was shocked at how long it took. White people just make an appointment, every few weeks and get a cut. Maybe a couple hrs for a perm or highlights. She dedicated half of her Saturday to this beauty ritual in order to look lovely. I understood then that I took my quick and easy styling sessions for granted. Women of color go through a lot and pay a lot to achieve some of these styles-/ but with beautiful results.

My youngest daughter's hair is EXACTLY like this. At 22yo she asked why doesn't her hair (coil wet set) do this since I've always said she has my hair just on a BIGGER head 😂. My hair has thinned due to autoimmune thyroid meds so now my hair wet set coils very easily. I had to show her the reason for (a lot of work) sectioning to individually detangle and smooth in small parts until all sections/whole head is coiled. I did one section to show her and she did the remaining 3 sections. She let it air dry 1/2 way then diffused it, but chose to let the coils (last longer) fall on their own. After seeing that her hair is in fact like mine yet her head is bigger and FULL like these ladies' hair, she decided on locks rather than hours of coiling her hair every week or every other week 😁. Now 25yo with locks midway her back, I showed her this video and she said, "yeah right, they make it look so simple"🤣😭.

Back in the day, I had a "Fro" I was PROUD of my "Fro!" Now that I'm in my early 70's, my hair has thinned out. However, it's all GREY, and I am LOVING IT!!! ❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️

I remember some beautiful afros from my time... and the fellas had such soft shiny ones because of the spray which smelled really good.. and even though I'm Caucasian I had a blonde frosted one. I'm 80 now ...I don't think it'd be too becoming on me now.. 😂🤣 But I love it on these pretty girls👍
