Once again someone with authority issues. Just take the hat off for the duration of the flight like the CAPTAIN asked you to do OR get off the flight. Pretty simple... It's called basic RESPECT for authority AND those around you.
Why do people feel they are allowed to wear something like that in the airport, let alone on the airplane. They have to argue, and video tape themselves being disrespectful to an authority figure. Shame on you!!

Remember the good ole days, when you got cracked across the ass, with a paddle for being disrespectful. That's when this country started going to shit. When kids started getting timeouts, and were told if anyone tried to punish them, they could have that person arrested, they no longer feared repercussions for their actions. This is the results. Disrespect to someone in authority and disregard for the rules.

If this is the best the passenger can accept his Authority then the passenger needs to learn that Yes Sir/Yes Ma’am OR No Sir/No Ma’am will get them very far in life. Learn to be respectful.
I’m happy they are stopping the vulgar and nasty clothing on flights. People need to be wearing long pants and long sleeves as people puke, sneeze, shard and are just nasty and you’re sitting on those seats.

A lot of comments here about 1st Amendment rights. Several points you seem to have failed to take into account. First, the 1st Amendment clearly states " Congress shall make no law ... , or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;". The airline is not the government it is a private corporation. As long as their "rules and regulations" don't violate the rights of a protected group of individuals a private corporation may have whatever rules they wish (if you don't like their rules take your business/money elsewhere. kSecond, this is the Captain of this flight and as on a ship the Captain is judge, jury, and executioner. This is a well established protocol from the days of sailing ships and is necessary due to the need of one person to ultimately have the authority to possibly make final or emergency decisions.

Hey, I think that is great. Keep it off. My husband and I rode a train from the state of Washington to Minnesota. They served alcohol. Some people got drunk and were very vulture. The announcer stated this is a family train and this behavior is not allowed. They were warned and didn't stop. They had to get off at the next stop, which wasn't their chosen Destination!
Pilot is the Captain of that Jet. His word goes period. The woman is a pain disruptive and The Captain took a stand.....much respect. The ""lady" was out of order and not trustworthy. NASTY SHE IS. UGH

She obviously doesn’t understand authority and has no respect for authority. They needed to take the hat away from her and return it AFTER the flight. You don’t give her the opportunity to put the hat back on when the flight takes off because you won’t have any control once the flight takes off. I’d be willing to bet that the hat went back on once the flight took off.

people seem to think it's ok to wear bedroom slippers, pj's, head rags, vulgar words on their clothes because they have no respect for themselves. please don't try to make it a culture or racial thing..it's simply a low - no class move...they come in many colors.

That captain should be commended. He really handled that calmly and professionally. He came across as a stern everybodies dad. Just what was needed.
I agree dhe shouldn't wear that. but on the side of you aren't allowed on a plane if you aren't dressed nicely... I get my clothes off temu. or at second hand stores. because I am 620 pounds and cant fit into anything nice, yes, including a plane seat or four. if someone gifted me a flight somewhere , id have to come on wearing stretchy pj's because if I wore jeans , once I sat down the button would fly off and break a window.

one question? IF it is a problem on the plane it should be a problem before getting on the plane. Went through check points or TSA, went through boarding and nothing said or done until you get on plane. Stop the madness before anyone gets to that point. Why weren't the rules enforced before? JS
