It doesn't matter what color our skin is, we all have potential to be better and make things better. Look at how many things the people of color have done for our world! Things that most people of white race think were invented by white people. They weren't. You know, honestly, as a black man, I can say I have not had this type of harassment from any police officer. I guess it's my attitude towards them that doesn't cause them to become aggressive with me. I've had some run-ins with the police, and during those times, I was caught red-handed. However, I never had any police officer come across as if I were a suspect of some criminal activity. I think that when you comply with their request, even though they may be having a bad day and want to stereotype you, if you give them the impression that you're not guilty of anything, it eases the tension, as that is what worked for me. As I said, I've been caught red-handed doing some stupid things, and I kept my composure, acting respectfully towards the police officers. They ran my name, heard that I had no warrants, and let me go with a warning. I know some people want to take us back before civil rights, but we cannot let this type of attitude control our lives.
