I usually just get the broken key out by taking out tumbler. Removing the broken key is easy once the anti- tamper ring and housing are removed, then put it back together. it's not very hard. It's neat but you also run the risk of leaving pieces inside the tumbler further getting the key stuck.

used to use glue sticks to baby cuff my pants,those or break a plastic hanger, or use the plastic q-tips. But glue sticks worked the best imo
