Just as the young man approaches the guy against the wall, look closely at the rear of the van. You can see the man who eventually comes around the front of the van peeping behind the van. I would think that if he was there to help the young man that he would shout at the other guy telling him to leave the boy alone or even tell the boy to run. Makes me think the two guys are together.

Had a similar incident happen to me when I was younger. I was walking back to my car after work when I was approached by a shady dude asking me for money. When I told him I did not have any on me, he got angry and started reaching towards my pocket. So, having minimal self defense training. I elbowed the dude face and while he was down on the ground I stumped on his ankle and groin 👍 That how quick the it went down. Left the scene unharmed 😃
