Itβs not illegal as hell. You can shoot them or beat them with a club but due to their immense strength itβs almost a must to take them out before you hauls them into your boat
in Alaska you're required to shoot Halibut before you bring them in the boat. legal catch is over 60Lbs. if brought aboard alive, thrashing around can knock the bottom of the boat out. thus, rules are shoot it first.....
