Sadly, most drivers don’t know how to use Jake brakes properly. This is another prime example we used to have one that was called a Seabree, which was about five times stronger.. but the more you use the jake break the more damage you do to your engine and the weaker the top and gets. I’ve been driving forever and maybe I see one real truck driver for every thousand that I see out there anymore! And it would blow your mind how many people are behind the wheel, who cannot read English, who pull into a scale house when the scalehouse is closed, who bypass the scalehouse when prep passes off, and the scale is open!

I know how those brakes work they are basically to slow you down a lot faster than you could by just using your brakes alone and they help save on the brakes however there are numerous individuals that abuse them in towns by purposely running them and disturbing the citizenship especially in the middle of the night.

I've spent 34 years behind a diesel engine and I only used the Jakes on the open road outside of town or residential areas. They assist the brakes but the driver still has to judge how much. Jake brakes cannot keep the brakes from overheating on their own nor can they control all the speed inertia causes.

We all know what the Jake break is used for but some of these jackasses just do it because they like the sound, they don't realize the damage they are doing to their engines by do it al the time 🤔

don't brakes are to be used indown hill stopping or slowing your vehicle down without burning up your brakes - the inexperienced driver use them in this manner - they just want to hear them make noise - absolutely no reason for running a Jake brakes in a flat parking lot that just shows ignorance

I just got schooled in Jake brakes, never heard of them before today. I drive a truck but its not a big truck like this one we are talking about. I love Hemi's so you know or have guessed we love our Dodge Rams, I also like Ford trucks but not as much as my Dodge.
