A red dot on the forehead, called a bindi, signifies deep cultural and spiritual meaning in South Asian traditions, primarily representing the third eye (wisdom, intuition), marital status (red for married, black/none for widowhood), divine energy (Shakti), good fortune, and focus, though it's also a popular fashion accessory today, worn by many for beauty or devotion, regardless of marital status or religion. I have this on my forehead but i went a step further and did it as a piercing.

So, the Bindi is a religious symbol. The top one by her hair is the marital symbol..She did it the first time, dreaming of getting married. The second, she was married.
