I have a cleaning business and I have done hoarding situations for over 20 years and I'm here to tell you that this should be unacceptable! this causes numerous of health problems never mind that you can't sell your house because nobody wants to live in a neighborhood with someone like this. Animals go in there and die as well as owners and nobody ever knows it! The destruction this causes is unbelievable. If you have never had the pleasure of cleaning something like this up then you have no idea what kind of damage this does to the house, the owner, the neighbors and environmental! These are the most disgusting situations you will ever encounter! if you don't believe me and you've never dealt with it watch episode of Hoarders!

I just see a poor soul who has a mental illness and needs some help. We love to judge what we see in videos with no back story. This could be a disabled veteran who is suffering from ptsd. We all live different lives that make us who we are today. Some have had horrible life experiences that broke them. It’s the same with drugs. We need to address and treat mental illnesses. My mother and grandma beat me as a child because I was male. I have bloody Christmas memories. I have an uncle I never met he left at 18 and his abuse fell on me. They were both pure evil. I took care of my abusive grandma as she was dying from cancer. My mom and sister wanted her to goto a nursing home. I saw it as a chance to get her to love me at 16 years old. When she died the will read 75 mom 15 me 10. I struggled with self worth my whole life because of that abuse. I turned to alcohol tobacco and drugs to self medicated. Glad I was able to beat those addictions . Not everyone can but their is always a reason

My wife takes care of our yard,,I'm 75 and just mow and keep things cut, neighborhood abandoned houses are the only problem invites the homeless and they start fires for warmth and burn the houses down.

This is upsetting in many respects. Instead of condemning the person in distress, why don’t we as neighbors help the person clean up their property . If we reach a hand out to someone, maybe they won’t feel alone in a situation that they can’t get under control by themselves .

I'm all for everyone having the right to have what they want to on his or her own personal property but this is absolute overkill and should have to be relocated at the least and removed from being so close to the road. I just think about the rats breeding in that trash. I guess they have reported the people living in that mess. The city manager (or whoever) needs to fine them and if they don’t do something, condemn the house. Can a house be condemned if someone lives there??? This is absolutely unsanitary and there should be consequences.
