How is being convicted of a crime stop a person from voting? As I see it, voting is an inalienable right that is guaranteed by the Constitution! In many states even if you are convicted of a crime you still retain the right to vote but there are still some that make it difficult to get your right to vote back after a felony conviction. Certain states make you pay off court costs, fines, and other expenses before regaining the right to vote! Hopefully that will change some day soon!
