better check the law. dogs that are trained to this level are not required to be on a "physical leash", in most, if not all, states. their training provides that.

my dogs are always well trained. I do not need a leash to walk them. I do use them in public areas for two reasons. one it's the law. two if not on a leash other dogs that are tend to become frightened. almost jealous.

I have a very well behaved large dog and I have him on a leash and I cant tell you how many times some one with a small untrained dog trys shit with my dog. my dog will just sit and wait. in the mean time the small dog owner has done everything including choke and drag there dog away. small dogs aren't the trouble there owners are.

Always a leash when other dogs are around. Your dog may be obedient but you never know about other dogs not matter what the owner thinks. With a leash you can pull your dog out of the way in time just in case another dog decides to attack. Or your dog may shock you by lounging at another dog. You should always follow the rules wherever you are. You’re no more special than the other person.
