They are poisonous and venomous. Make sure you don't touch there liver. Not all species are deadly when you touch them. Some species are only deadly certain times of the year or cam be more deadly certain tines of the year. The venom drops your heart rate.

That’s kinda funny!!! That looks like the same kind that I/we caught in 1963 on Long Beach Island, New Jersey and ate them. There were thousands of them after the March 1962 storm. At that time in New York City a plate of 4 and fries went for over $20. We never got sick or ill from eating or touching them. However!!!! There are puffer fish that are poisonous, mostly in the tropics.

Fun fact. Marine biologists observed that dolphins enjoy getting high off of the pufferfish. They will make the fish puff up and it will then release small amounts of tetrodotoxin. They will actually pass the fish around and some of the other dolphins will join in getting high also. Who would've thought that dolphins enjoy getting high? LOL 😆

research is key, puffer fish is toxic if cooked wrong, and eaten. touching a puffer fish is safe as you can tell she isnt squeezing it, they have little spikes yes they dont inject any venom or toxic chemicals they got them to make whatever trys to eat them think again.

BS used to catch these off the coast of Florida on the regular. Bare hands everytime for years. Completely harmless. They do have some major front teeth though. Rabbit teeth.

I beg to differ, they release toxins from their skin because of the chemical their organs secrete.
