I had one that had a FOF (Family or Foreigner) lock on it. My cat had an RFID tag in his collar that only allowed him access. My cat used to hold the door open to allow his drinking buddies & girlfriends in. Is haven't SOLVED the drinking buddies issue yet, but solved the girlfriends problem by having him neutered. LOL!!!
Cats use each others houses all the time. They have a time table for prowling around their neighborhood. The cats know what it is.

Haha! I had a neighbor back home on LI, NY who had a cat flap/ door wellllll she went into her kitchen one morning to find a raccoon eating the cat food! I forget how she said she got the raccoon out of the kitchen, but I do know she got rid of and sealed up the cat door after that!

Other cats in our neighborhood loved coming in our house through our dog/cat door. Our big orange and white tom cat and little mini pincher would have a field day. They’d boldly walk from the back of the house up front into our living room.
I left the door open so my cat's could run in and out. When I noticed my cats are all starting into the kitchen, I got up and looked..a momma raccoon and her 4 babies eating the catfood.
At least it's not a skunk or raccoon! A family of skunks used my brother's cat door and enjoyed a free meal before my brother quietly coxed them back out an open door without them spraying him or the inside of the house!
We had a dog door that went into our garage from backyard. Found an opossum who came in and had baby in there too. We had to capture it and take it to the woods about 8 blocks away and let it loose. We closed up the dog door.

I've got a light gray cat with darker gray stripes with a circular bulls eye pattern on the side like that cat. As it's gotten older, it has become more motted and blended, so it's harder to see now as its stripes are lighter too. I love all the different patterns cat have, some are very rare * unique.

Well, I have a few cats that don’t belong to me that come in the cat door one of them. I know it was a TNR Cat. You cannot look her straight in the eye because she does not like that and she will runoff. You cannot pet her, but it is really extremely cold outside so she comes inside goes to a corner. I put a blanket there for her to lay on and she will sleep there and then she’ll go back outside for a while and then she’ll come back inside and go to her corner and you can talk to her and she will stare at you, but you can’t look directly at her, but she’s a beautiful all black cat and she does have the clipped ear. The other one is a huge orange male Tom cat he will let you pet him and he will talk to you and he comes in for about 10 minutes every morning and sometimes he will stay longer. Occasionally, he will disappear for weeks at a time and then we have the three cats that live here and the big dog.
I would love to have a cat door, however, I’m afraid a raccoon or opossum, or worse yet a rodent would get in my house.

My husband left a window pane out so our cat could walk through it. a stray cat kept coming in through that window. We finally fogured out why our cat was upset. Why all his food in his dish was gone. The stray kept coming in and eating our cats food. Then we smelled cat stink in the cellar. We tried ti make friends with it but it was ferral.
