Been there, done that in my wasted youth. Cops came to the door asked sweetly if they could come in, I told them NOPE. All of a sudden not so nice anymore. The neighbors reported us because we had so many people coming in and out. We had 6 people living there as roommates, a band and a couple of others. She told the cops we were drug dealers. Cops came back the next day while I was at school and brought SWAT with them. They tore the house apart, no drugs. Still arrested the 2 guys who happened to be home. When they went before a judge and he asked the charges, there were literally no charges. The judge read the cops the riot act. Arrested 2 people for just being home minding there own business. We should have sued.
No! Don’t open the door. Dial 911 and ask the dispatcher to see if a Police Officer was charged to come to your house. If not, ask the dispatcher to send authorized Officers, immediately. That scene looks ‘fishy’!!
When they first walked up the first officer told the other one to arrest him as soon as he came outside. Never open the door cops are not there to help you out! They are only there to try and arrest or cite you for anything they make up

This is a good lesson as to what to do when people who *look* like cops come to your door. There are so many law-abiding citizens who are trusting and would have opened the door to these 2 people. Don't do it! There are evil people out there who are depending on you being trusting and are bold enough to have bought costumes and then come to your house in the middle of the night for who knows what reason. Anybody who comes to your door, you have to check them out. With these 2, call the police. With so-called service people, always call the company they say they're from and make sure they are who they say they are. Serial killers have used these scams to get into your house, case it, and come back later to do unspeakable things. Don't be a victim.
My boyfriend and I were living at my boyfriends mother's house she had dementia. His mother got passed our security defense to keep her inside at night. 2:00 in the morning, 911 dispatcher calls us said police were on the way. Police shows up saying his mom was found 6 blocks from the house in her nightgown pushing her walker. Paramedics were on the way to take her to the hospital. But we were notified ahead of time.
His first mistake was letting the cops know he was home. I do not acknowledge anyone who comes to my door unless I invited them. They only hear my pit barking
