Sadly, some of those being honored would have been reviled in life for being the wrong color, speaking the wrong language, or loving the wrong person. Would that respect was shown to all, both dead and alive.

Looks like the eldest man stood up, took his hat off & put his hand over his heart as the folded flags passed. Everyone should know those folded flags represents a fallen US soldier & stand! For those over 6 feet tall, bend over a little! The flag represent someone who died serving our country! It's called respect & honor our fallen heros!

Well the people on this flight were all old retired military people. My dad went on one of the flights of honor, he was 89, and he couldn’t stand up, do please be thoughtful of lots of these men, who fought in battle to protect this country.
People these days have no respect. Everyone on that flight should have been on their feet honoring these service members who gave all for our freedom ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

this is so awesome! my uncle who was a Vietnam war vet, was actually nominated by his doctor at the VA clinic in Florida. they flew into Dulles airport in Virginia and because I live in Virginia, I surprised my uncle because he didn't know I was coming. as soon as they come into the airport, they are greeted by a big band and lots of Cheers. it was just a beautiful day. the veterans were taken on a bus to view all the monuments in Washington DC.

And this is why flag burning as a form of expression of freedom of speech should be excluded from the first amendment. Some things should be holy and respect demanded and required by law. It should be an unnecessary but in today’s offensive environment a new amendment to the constitution of the United States because stupidity disrespect and selfish out of control self entitlement are the new norm.

As a Veteran who happens to be disabled, I sometimes find it difficult to stand. It would be extremely difficult to stand in an airplane with the limited leg room provided in most aircraft. However, I do believe all veterans should have shown respect by placing their hands over their hearts or saluting.
We are not taught what to do as Americans.

MAGAs are fake Americans who violate America’s Founding Pledge by being Conservatives. The pledge came before the flag and every Conservative in America violates the pledge by being Conservatives. Read the Declaration of Independence and learn what it takes to be a loyal American.
That flag is just a piece of fabric. The way you treat people is more important. I will never stand for the flag or recite the pledge until there is liberty and justice for all. At the age of 74I don't see it happening in my lifetime. My dad was a WW2 vet who came home and could not go in a restaurant , sit and eat. What did he risk his life for, a country that had no respect for him. My husband was vietnam vet, two tours, he died from a rare cancer in 2000. We had a nine year old son. When my son was eighteen someone told me that he should have received benefits that I was not aware of. I contacted the VA,. They told me he could have received benefits as a minor, but now it was too late, since they don't pay benefits after 18. The flag means nothing to me!!

My husband was a Viet Nam vet. No parade no celebrations for the service. They were cursed at, spit upon, and the constant finger pointing. Not all soldiers receive the honor they deserve. Dead or alive. 💔
