Yeah, that was back in 1958, and that Atoll is still so radioactive there today, that scuba diving is strictly prohibited in this area of the Pacific.😲 Nuclear weapons just shouldn’t exist in our World. Not only for the destruction capability of the bomb, but for the radioactive contamination just doesn’t go away. That bomb was 67 years ago, and that area is still radioactive hot and dangerous. I can’t even imagine what it looks like down below in the trench where it was exploded, and no sea life can survive, and sea life living further away would still be exposed to radiation isotopes that would make them inedible for humans. The Navy would be better informed about the danger situation and how widespread the nuclear fallout could be. I’m really surprised that the bomb didn’t trigger a major underwater earthquake also. Nukes are bad business, and everyone of those nuclear weapons, worldwide, should be dismantled immediately. Nobody needs to have that much power. Nobody needs a nuke.🤯

actually worrying about damage in 1958, I was 12 yrs old, the real worry is now with all the necular talk of bomb being built, that are ready and set to certain points unknown is our worry.. when will someone get mad and set it all off. that is what I worry about we all survived 1958. 🤔🤔

How can everybody's always talking about government shit? No matter what the video is, we ought to be ashamed of ourselves. Anyway, I for one, don't vote. Because they don't give you a great choice. And never have of who you might have tried to govern a country. and how can we be the united states, If our government's divided?

this was a hydrogen bomb btw so it didnt leave behind any radiation and kill a huge part of the sea and secondly they did it in a ecological dead zone so not many fish if any live around that area so dont worry yall it didnt do much damage

My dad was Army Infranty WW2. He volunteered for 2 nuclear tests in the late 50's one was in Nevada and the other was in New Mexico. He died in 1987 from a radiation induced Brain Tumor caused by him taking part in these tests. 🙏💕🙏 God Bless our Military and our Veterans 🥰🙏💕🙏

ok, question to any of you film footage experts out there. Is this footage really from the 50's? I grew up watching tv in the 60's (born in 63) and don't recall film footage having any color in it. This seems to have just enough color (sky) to make me wonder?

Question….Why does the U.S. Government only start Wars with countries they believe they can beat? Isn't that bullying? I don't see them starting fights with countries with Nuclear Capability.
