There were 2 slave trades out of Africa. The transatlantic and the trans-Saharan. The trans-Saharan was longer and more brutal especially the journey. The trans-Saharan trade brought slaves into the Middle East and Asia. The boys were all castrated and forced to walk without any medical attention. Only 40% survived the journey. I find comparing slavery to be morbid and rather silly. True some suffered more than others but they all were still slaves. Virtually every race ethnicity culture what have you owned slaves or been held as slaves at some point in history. It is a scar on the human collective soul. There are many issues we face today. There are still slaves today. I have heard of estimates that number the present-day slave population greater than it was during the height of the transatlantic slave trade. We can argue slavery from the past as it affected our ancestors or how it impacts us today.

what part of spoils of victory don't you understand. the villages that had people that were not of their village were captives from war. they were there as captives, this they were expendable. so yes they were sold for profit. but don't act like they were slaves just to be. every and I mean every village, and country in those times captured the weak and old and did as they wanted with them. sold them, used them for sex, labor, and anything else they deemed would benefit their society.
