A foodstamp card actually has two functions now. It has an EBT Food and an EBT Cash option at the register. If you have been awarded only EBT Food, then no you can't buy anything unless it is food (excluding "hot cooked foods"). If you have been awarded EBT Food and EBT Cash, then you have access to both food money and cash money that can be used for "whatever". Now, should she be buying $400 worth of bundles - hell no! But this is 2025 an the world's priorities are totally fucked up so, we see this reckless disregard all the time. SMDH!

I'm a cashier and the EBT card can have snap and cash on it. Like it he were to run the card it gives you an option food or cash.
This is the reason why our welfare system needs an overhaul! It devastates families who really need assistance. At least 75% of the women I've seen using their EBT are dressed to a T with their hair all done, fake eyelashes, fake nails, with designer handbags loading their groceries in a newer model car. So if you can afford all that then you don't need to be stealing funds from the government that is meant to help the truly needy!
