Can’t believe those officers were going to just stand there. Their intent is to blow tires on a car. Once done, the car will not just calmly come to a stop. Maybe crash and possibly hit them.

The only way the spikes work is if the car is going so fast it doesn’t see them or they can’t avoid them and to prevent it from going around them then you have the cruiser sideways on the road to block the other lane

The spike strip is supposed to be thrown out right before the car approaches, so the driver doesn't have an opportunity to go around it. It's not laid out like a welcome mat for one the see before they approach it 🙄 I guess this is small town hospitality 😉
