When it hits bottom, and it didn’t, the rope would go fairly limp, and would only stay tight when it hasn’t reached there, yet.

They should have tied a go pro to the end of it with a light!!!!

This does not tell how deep it is.....once the rope touches the bottom it will continue to move down because it is coiling up at the bottom.

If it is kilometers, he is referring to, it would be 3500 ft. It didn’t look like that much, but could have been, I suppose. 🤔

I'm guessing around 2-300 feet deep 🤔

Now, why wouldn’t they put a go pro camera on the end of the rope? That would certainly indicate if it hit the bottom or not. Js.

except that regardless of where the bottom is momentum would continue to pull the rope down until it ran out of rope.

how many seconds did it fall, after terminal velocity was reached which is when the rope sped up,22mph p/s,so count the seconds multiple by 22mph/p/sand maybe you know how far it fell

it could be 30 ft and still do that

avator

it did, it proved the rope never hit the bottom didn't you hear him say that was only 3.3 newton's of force, if the rope hit the bottom it would of been a different number

For all we know, the rope end could be six inches above the the floor.

Unless I can see where the rope is going it very well could have fallen 20 feet but the momentum just kept the rest uncoiling.

avator

that didn't prove a thing that pit could have been 50 ft deep and the rest of the Rope is going to still follow

avator
Noel Rydbom

now you know how much the rope weighs

avator
Michael Kennedy

Even if it hit bottom it would continue to go down

avator
BruceWayne
Dallas, TX · 2 months ago

But the issue is, is that it still didn't hit the bottom, the rope was still hanging, which means if the rope was longer it would of gained more force

3.32 Newton Meters. It's to measure torque like foot pound.

probably reached bottom long ago but the weight of the rope kept pulling itself down to the end.....

Rock climbing rope is really strong but leaving it on the ground lets dirt and rocks get inside the rope rendering the rope unsafe. Must be nice to throw away money.
