My dad threw my off a HIGH cliff into the lake. I was like eight. Friends in boat were not far. I was not traumatized for life (although I was scared and so mad, but did not cry because secretly it was so cool/fun but I didn't want to admit it just yet). I had many similar experiences growing up that many parents would not approve. Long story short... I became a strong fearless confident young woman. I served in the military 25 years. Lighten up and remember, from day one, you are preparing your most precious gift in life to survive without you in a world that doesn't love and won't protect them like you... The child was fine. Not sure I would have done this (this child seemed very young) but I'm not judging. Honestly, I worry more about the kid that cries over everything and parents cater to their every whim and defend their poor behavior (including shitty manners and spoiled bratty behavior). This kid got wet, it ain't that serious.

I haven’t read all the comments, but I haven’t read any that are addressing the fact that the spray of water shot OVER the child, not onto the child—that is why Mama has her stand as close to the wall as she did. Child did not run from the wall in fear—she walked out splashing in the puddle left behind. Mama didn’t abandon the child there, she was just out of screen. I didn’t enjoy water amusement park rides the way our kids did. Packing around a full set of wet, adult size clothing is heavy and cumbersome, and spending the day in wet clothes is not appealing to me. A toddler swimsuit, on the other hand, is small, light, and will dry quickly.

OMG… people! I’m sure they’d stood there many times and saw the wave of water coming down. Knowing toddlers… I’m sure the little boy asked so many times to do this and they finally gave in. Did the little boy get knocked down, washed away by the excess water… that’s a huge NO! She packed extra clothing for him and knew he’d be dry afterwards, so they’d both be dry. Some of you either haven’t been parents, it’s been way too long since you’ve been a parent or had nanny’s take care of your kids and never did anything fun. So in other words… you can call CPS on another family and leave this one alone!🥱
To all you people here complaining about a child getting wet. How many of you have allowed your of age or of height child, neice, nephew cousin, stepchild or whatever to ride any of those rides that are at Six Flags, Disney, or any park that has a fast ride. Did any of you think about the dangers they were in from a lose bolt, screw or inproperly welded fasten. Did you think about the danger to children on the ground if those extremely heavy machine came crashing down. At least that baby was on the ground and not up in the air upside down.

Is she Mother of the Year? Things to consider: Age—the kid is still an unsteady walker, slipping on a wet surface with resulting injury is high. Age—again, she’s emotionally probably not prepared bc mom put her facing the wall & she immediately turned around, looking for her. Force— seeing this in slo-mo doesn’t demonstrate the actual force & shock of the wall of water hitting her. Just an FYI— the water from these types of rides has been tested & found to be full of bacteria bc it’s recycled more than replenished. Always keep your mouth closed….js Signage— 2 warning signs posted above, wonder what they state? In summary—appears to be another social media op by young parents who prioritize sensationalism over safety. Mom achieved her goal, not necessarily a win.

Can't believe the comments criticizing the mom. Bet she was there before with the kid and she saw how much the kid enjoyed the shower. So she wanted the kid to enjoy the shower again, but she didn't want to get wet. I didn't see the kid crying for the mom when she left.
