I have no problem with the government subsidizing healthy nutritious lunches for children from impoverished homes, seems like a good use of taxpayer funds and a logical government function.

i have no respect for those over 25 making minimum wage, ESPECIALLY in fast food, im 18 making $90k a year, im also in school, its not hard to get off your ass and find a real job with determination that pays a good salary.

If kids are REQUIRED to go to school and keep your kid for 8 hours+ or else their parents go to jail, then the government is and should be REQUIRED to give your kids free food to eat while they are their. It’s not like the kids get a gourmet meal. They get food in bulk for probably $100 a week or less to feed hundreds of kids.

Charlie kirk is right, I struggled myself when I raised my kids. My kids never got free lunch. My son would complain he didn't like the free lunches and therefore I bought him his own lunch. Or, I put money on his lunch card so he could get food. Same with my daughter. Luckily, she wasn't picky, and a simple sandwich, fruit, and snack made her happy. I would even sacrifice some of my "free time money" to make sure my kids ate. I sacrificed a lot. Parents these days just whine and cry. I don't feel bad, only for those who don't ask for this situation. And, that's the kids. Btw, back in the day, school lunch for the month was like. $30-50 bucks. Now, it's about $60-$80 dollars. People can’t afford $40 every two weeks? Then, do some budgeting, and figure it out.

Most things I would agree with, but this one. I'm gonna argue against both. My parents worked when I was a child and I still had to have school lunch. Because because we didn't have enough money. But between rent car payments, insurance warranties, Health Insurance dental insurance we barely had food.\nEven now , i'm a disabled veteran and am is barely scraping by

My opinion is that bro they are bringing us to the school, not by OUR choice but because the governments choice, so if the government is going to make us go the government should feed us. But when you get into college since that's actually your choice then yea absolutely the student should be paying for their food

And Charlie is right morally all parents should pay for their kids school lunches. But he should know just as well as I know that that’s never going to happen because we live in a sinful world. So at the very least at least children should eat for free they should not have to worry about whether their parent can afford School lunch or qualify for some program.
Minimum is still 7.50 where I live. Most people in the area do start at 11$ tho. But even then, unless you’re sinless with no vices or have a financially beneficial partner in life. You won’t make it on minimum alone. Let alone with a family.

I think lunch should be free but breakfast cost money cuz as a parent u should get ur kid to school on time but having lunch be free gives fair assist to struggling households while it doesn't affect the ones that aren't struggling that much

Amen. Our parents fed us breakfast before school and packed our lunches everyday. Now they all get free breakfast and lunches. and come to school with dirty clothes, marijuana smell in their backpacks, attitudes, disrespect for the school staff, temper tantrums and don't understand simple math and reading. If parents would do their adult responsibilities at home by giving true discipline (SPANKING), teach respect and spending quality time with their children at home then school staff could actually teach kids something and enjoy their jobs all at the same time. And then the school board wouldn't have to be in millions of dollars debt from free food at school. Also the school staff could get a decent raise every year! 😡
