leaving them up like that is bad for the tensioner spring also could damage the arm from wind and they won't grip the windshield like they did before

that's an awesome way to stretch the tension springs in the wiper arm. sooner or later they don't hug the windshield tight anymore.

so I live in Denver and I always had to park my cars outside near Steamboat I have never lifted up my my windshield if it's below 32 degrees when I wake up at 5:00 in the morning I have a piece of wood that is a scraper that I made that can reach across the entire truck and very lightweight the wood is hard enough to scrape up all the ice off the windshield it takes 3 minutes to scrape off the windshield by that time the heater is starting to warm up a little bit the key thing is is I'm not going to damage my vehicle I have seen people come out to not having their wipers at all due to ice buildup and then a fear storm coming through

Is she referring to the number of people that drive when it’s cold out? If so, I agree. If we get snow, I stay in the house next to the fire. Then again I’m 70 years old and I’ve been retired for 15 years. I have absolutely no need to leave the house when it’s cold outside.

there is still humidity and shit that can cause the wipers to freeze to the car when the temperature drops when the sun goes down.

when it is below the point of freezing it is better to put your windshield wipers up in the air so they don't freeze to your windshield even with residual water runoff from the snow which can freeze your wipers to your windshield in turn breaking your wiper motor
