Even if the mayor tells do not go I would suspect that this is a dereliction of duty since assault is a crime against anyone it is the job of the police in every city county state country to protect all of the people in their jurisdiction. And in turn caused a volatile situation that could have lead to serious injury or death! Why has no one been punished?
