My mom grew up with him and actually started his first fan club! She told me a story once that when they all went rollerskating with Elvis, who was an excellent roller skater, they had a girl fall, knowing Elvis would come over because he really liked that girl! Sure enough that girl fell, and Elvis came up, screeching his wheels on his rollerskates, bending over and offering to help! And one of the other guys who is skating, came up behind Elvis at full speed and laid into him. He went flying over. The girl came crashing down on the floor and broke his nose. Even with blood running out of his nose he got up laughing.! Because he realized he had just been set up!
