I always wore a ski belt or life preserver in our ski boat. I must admit my mom allowed us to swim without one. We swam very far out in the lake which I realize now was dangerous. I guess that was how people thought back in the 1950 and 1960s.

I don’t see a problem with it if the lake isn’t busy like a Memorial Weekend event/s are. Probably shoulda each jumped with a vest in hand. Everyone jumps so there is nobody to hold the flag letting other boaters know u have people in the water near u. It appears everyone jumps even the driver in the black 1 piece swimsuit. I think it’s the driver since they both or one had their hair pulled back, blonde, all fit the drivers description minus the black 1-piece suit.

I grew up as a harbor rat in Bellmore longisland . We could swim FOREVER . We did crazy shit all the time all around water . Watersking , snorkeling , beaches , fishing, clamming . This is nothing !!!!! Life perseveres don't need to be worn !!!!!! Geeze bet 95% of the people that commented with BS live landlocked !!!! I grew up and still live on an island .
