I love it. who doesn't like a challenge. I remember every year my grandma's town celebrated on the 4th of July big time. they would take a pole grease it up, and people would climb it. it was fun to watch. they also grease a pig they would try to catch it. good time. big parade, and the Barbque was amazing. simple times. I sure miss them. kindness back then.

This is a sport known as Mat - Incline better known as Grease Pole Contest what they must do is run up that steep incline the pole without falling of course and make it to the top and grab the flag. I feel sorry for the guy who fell hitting in the personal spot WOW that had to hurt.

there was this old tree with no branches on it that leaned out over our property over the lake. in the 70s I had a pair of kangaroo hide track spikes that you could interchange the metal spikes and they had 3/8 inch spikes on them for cinder tracks, I could run up to the top of that tree with those shoes on 🤣
